After weeks of trying to find out how to extract the level portraits from Overwatch, I was finally helped by the wonderful js41637. I was able to get the portraits and put them into an image that shows all of the current level portraits! This was something I’ve wanted to do for a while now, it was annoying that there wasn’t a complete and accurate image that included all the portraits currently in game.
How to figure out someones level in Overwatch
Trying to figure out someones level in Overwatch can be a little tricky sometimes as you don’t get a number. Instead, we’re given a coloured portrait, possibly with stars and then a number. So how do you tell what level someone is?
Things to note:
- Every 10 levels you get a new portrait banner.
- Every time you reach level 100, this is called a prestige.
- Every 600 levels, you get a new colour border.
First you look at the colour of the portrait. From there you take the base number EG: if they have a silver portrait, you know that they are at least level 600
- Bronze = 1 to 600
- Silver = 601 to 1200
- Gold = 1201 to 1800
- Platinum – 1801 to 2400
Secondly, you look for how many stars the person has on their portrait. Each star adds +100 to their level. EG: If they have a silver portrait with 3 stars, they are level 900.
Lastly, you have the number in the middle of their portrait, this is their current level from 0 to 99.
