As someone who is level 700+, leveling became something that I didn’t look forward to. It was something that didn’t excite me any more. It was going to be another box full of duplicates, despite having over 150 items left to unlock. While I understand that some items are meant to be rare and should be difficult to obtain. At level 700 with over 560 hours into the game and almost religiously doing the brawls to get extra boxes, it was mundane. I stopped buying boxes with cash, I’ve stopped buying default items with gold and only save for event items I want. The loot system was failing.

The new lootbox change has been amazing. I’ve not gotten a duplicate and the amount of coins I’ve gotten has, as promised, remained similar. It was something that the game really needed. Now, we’re a day into the event and I have to say, I’m loving opening boxes. I get new things! I’m getting lots of event items!! I’m still generating coins!!!

Overall, the lootbox change has been a welcomed one. I’ve been trolling various social media and public forums, there hasn’t been any backlash on the lootbox changes. It is a welcomed change. There hasn’t been any posts with people complaining about the amount of loot they’ve gotten and the amount of duplicates. This was a welcomed quality of life change!

There is no way that Id have gotten this many event items in so few boxes!

Loot Box Updates

We always want the experience of opening an in-game loot box to feel exciting and rewarding, and in our latest patch we’re working to improve that experience in two key ways. First, we’re drastically reducing the amount of duplicates players will receive when opening loot boxes. Second, to compensate for this reduction of duplicate items, we’re also increasing the overall amount of credits players will receive from loot boxes. On average, players should be earning just as many credits, if not slightly more, from loot boxes than they did prior to these changes…
